Dr Moumita Chowdhury is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist (FRANZCP) providing assessment and ongoing care for children and young people up to 18 years of age. She works with a wide range of emotional, behavioural and developmental concerns, including anxiety, mood difficulties, ADHD, Autism Spectrum profiles, emotional regulation challenges and school engagement difficulties. Dr Chowdhury completed her psychiatric training in Australia and holds a Master of Psychiatry from the University of Melbourne. With experience across community, inpatient and paediatric hospital settings, she takes a developmental and neuroaffirming approach, focusing on understanding how a child functions in everyday life and helping families and schools make sense of behaviours with clarity and compassion.
Dr Chowdhury values collaborative care and aims to create a supportive space where both young people and caregivers feel heard and understood. She works closely with families, referrers and allied health professionals to develop practical and manageable plans that support participation at home, at school and socially.
Outside of her professional role, she enjoys travelling, exploring different cultures and cuisines, and photography, interests that reflect her curiosity about people and the different contexts in which children grow and develop.
