Dr Ajit Kumar is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with extensive experience working with young people and families across Australia and the UK. He holds Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych, UK), Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP), and a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in the UK.
Dr Kumar provides thoughtful, evidence-based assessment and treatment for children and adolescents experiencing a range of mental health difficulties, including neurodevelopmental disorders (autism, ADHD, learning difficulties), anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and early-onset psychosis.
He works collaboratively with young people, families, schools, general practitioners, and other health professionals to develop care plans that are practical, compassionate, and tailored to each child’s needs.
Alongside his clinical work, Dr Kumar remains actively involved in teaching, research, and academic publishing, supporting high-quality, and evidence-informed mental health care for children and young people.
